Visiting Singapore for family time? Universal Studio is totally recommended. Loads of attractions and fun happens there.

USS opens at 10 AM to 9 PM. We suggest visiting USS as early as possible so you’ll have more time to spend and get the maximum fun of it. There are 7 main areas in USS: Hollywood, New York, Sci-fi City, Ancient Egypt, Lost World, Far Far Away and Madagascar. You can read about all the attractions here. In this post, I’ll only write about few of our favorite rides in USS.

The Rides

We have visited Universal Studio Singapore for 4 or 5 times. Every time we went there, the first ride to go is Transformers the Ride. This attraction has the most queue among all. We think it’s the coolest ride in USS. Basically, you’ll be riding a car that will take you to a 3D environment with some exciting car movements. You’ll feel that you’re inside one of the Transformers and do the battle. So cool!

The second one is Battlestar Galactica. It’s a roller coaster by the way. There are two types of a roller coaster there: human and cyclon. For the first-timer (like me), I suggest you try Human first. It’s 90 seconds ride. But for me, it’s the longest 90 seconds of my life. I was screaming non-stop till I lost my voice for a couple of minutes after the ride, haha. Cyclon is a bit hardcore to me. The rail is above your head, so your feet will be hanging in the sky throughout the ride. Unfortunately, I was to chickened-out to try Cyclon. But of course, you can always try and feel the adrenaline rush yourself.

Performances

Besides the rides, we also love stage performances like Moster Rock in Hollywood theatre and Water World in the Lost World. Monster rock is an indoor performance, while Water world is outdoor. Both shows are entertaining and exciting. Monster rock is basically a musical stage act, performed by talents in a “spooky” costume.

Water world is a jaw-dropping performance. The show itself is based on the blockbuster film, “Waterworld”. Performed by trained stunts, the show includes water spills and thrills from a real explosion. Just don’t sit in the front rows if you don’t want to get wet.

Special Entertainments

If you want to visit USS, we would suggest you visit USS on Saturday. They have special entertainments on Saturdays like Hollywood Dreams Parade (HDP) and Lake Hollywood Spectacular (LHS). HDP is a parade of all USS stars along Hollywood street. It usually starts at 3 PM. LHS is a firework show on USS lake. Make sure you already on site 30 mins before the show, as all the good spots will be taken. Usually, we bought our dinner first (take away) and eat it beside the lake while waiting for the fireworks. Make sure to check the schedule first before your visit. There may be a few changes in a certain month.

Don’t forget to ask for USS maps and show schedule at the entrance gate. Just to make sure you don’t get lost inside the park. The show schedule will help you not to miss them and to plan your route better inside USS.

A prayer room is available inside USS. It is located below Battlestar Galactica. You can actually locate it on the USS map.

How to reach USS

Universal Studio Singapore is located on Sentosa Island. It is basically a different island on the south of Singapore but connected with road, cable car, pedestrian, boardwalk, and monorail. Going to USS by public transport, the easiest way is by MRT. Alight at Harbourfront MRT (purple line) and follow the signs to Exit E that will lead you to Vivocity. The monorail departs from Vivocity Level 3. Nearest monorail station to USS is Waterfront station.
